Entering the Scootertown Car Wash

I want to show parents why K-3 didn't want to stay home last week during the bad weather!  Scootertown is an activity that teaches citizenship, responsibility, spatial awareness, and patience all while the students aren't even noticing the workout their little legs are getting.  In the one photo, you see older kids who constructed the little buildings during PACE time, solely for this purpose.  I've been looking forward to running this activity since I came to Grenora and it finally happened with the help of these students, as well as my teacher’s assistant, Adam Paine!  In the video, it's difficult to get a sense of the Christmas spirit but the main lights were dimmed so students could enjoy Christmas lights while Christmas music was playing.  Students swapped out driving their car with a "job" every so often and The Candy Store opened on Day 2 with a candy cane for each student.  I am hoping this includes a video and a folder of images for everyone to enjoy.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Mrs. Paine
