All parents of students in band grades 5-12 and chorus 7-12 are part of the Music Boosters! Music Booster’s purpose is to support each student in the music department. To raise funds we will host a meal before the evening performance of the Missoula Children’s Theater. Serve bars following Music Concerts and sell 50/50 tickets during some home basketball games. Your participation is appreciated! Music Booster dues are $10 per family. Checks can be made to Music Boosters and mailed to Tami Ledahl at 9005 137th Ave NW Zahl, ND 58856 or dropped off at the school office. If you missed last years dues, please include that also. There will be a music booster meeting on tonight, Thursday, August 25, at 7 p.m. cst in the library for all parents of music students grade 5-12 and anyone else interested. We will be discussing Missoula Children’s theater which is coming in September.
There has been two schedule changes for Thunder Athletics next week.
The Varsity football game vs. Circle will be played on Saturday Sept. 3rd @ 2:00pm CST. The JH football game will follow the varsity game.
Also, the volleyball match in Fairview on Sept. 1st, has been rescheduled to September 20th. The times will stay the same.
The 2021-22 yearbooks have arrived! If you pre-paid for your annual (s), please pick up your order from Mrs. Paine in her classroom. There are still books left to purchase ($30). The 65-page yearbook covers grades K-12 and highlights all school-sponsored sports. Have lifetime memories at hand for years to come!

Tomorrow (8/18) there will be a gear turnout meeting from 5:00pm to 7:00pm CST for any football players in grades 5-8. Coaches will be at the school at that time to help with gear so the players are ready for practice on Monday.

Fall Sports practices begin for High School cross country, football, and volleyball on Friday, August 12th!
Football and volleyball will be in Grenora at 8:00 am CST. The bus will leave Westby at 6:15 am MST. Cross Country will be in Westby at 7:30 am MST. The bus will leave Grenora at 7:45 am CST.
Make sure you get your physicals turned in to your respective school offices before the start of practice! Athletes will not be allowed to participate in practice until their physical is turned in.
Junior High volleyball practice will begin on Thursday, August 18th and Junior High football practice will begin on Monday, August 22nd.
5th and 6th grade football practice will begin on Monday, August 22nd.

Regretfully free school lunches will expire September 1st 2022. This means there will again be a fee for School Hot Lunch. Recognizing the additional Burdon of this on families the GPS School Board proposed that the district offer Free breakfast and milk. The prices will remain as they were in 2019, K-6 $2.40/ lunch, 7th-12th $2.65/ lunch, & Adult meals $4.00. This price however, is subject to change in January 2023. All families are encouraged to fill out a free and reduced lunch application even if you do not think you qualify as the number of applications helps the school district in other funding formulas. Little Gophers Daycare is hiring for a Part Time caregiver position. Hrs would be 830 to 1230 3 days a week. Those days are to be determined. Thunder Athletes and Parents,
In only 3 short weeks, varsity athletes will be hitting the court and field for the start of the 2022-2023 sports seasons. Every athlete, grades 6-12, needs to have a sports physical before they are allowed to participate in sports. Athletes will be on their own to get these scheduled, as the clinic no longer travels to schools. Physical forms can be found in the school office or online on the Grenora Public School website under "documents".
Varsity practice for Football and Volleyball begin Friday, August 12th.

The yearbook staff only received 8 online pre-orders for the 2021-22 yearbook which will be delivered shortly after school begins next month. Please email Mrs. Paine if you plan to purchase one then. (stephanie.paine@gspd99.org) Fewer books will be available if we don't get more predictable numbers. It's hard on the yearbook fund if we get stuck with a lot of unpurchased yearbooks. We are hoping everyone will understand if we don't have any left to buy come August and September. Pre-orders work the best in this situation. Thanks everyone.
